What is the:
P&Pd PICSystem
The system consists of two parts:
- (1) A trailer unit connected to the traveling irrigator that shuts off effluent flow if the irrigator fails to move forward within a preset time period.
- (2) A Kelco IPG20 controller/pressure and flow sensor unit, mounted in a manifold, that shuts down the pump if a fault occurs in the pipeline to the irrigator, or when the trailer unit shuts off flow to the irrigator.
(2) System installation at the pump consists of:
- Plumbing the manifold into the pipeline at the pump outlet side. The manifold slips into irrigation grade PE pipe using clamps to secure it. It may be bolted to the ground or left free as long as it always remains stable, and with the sockets pointing upwards. The manifold has the Kelco IPG20 unit mounting pre-fitted to a socket, along with two other manifold ports that are plugged unless fitted with these available options: (1) a pressure gauge (middle port, 1" BSP), and/or, (2) air anti-syphon valve (end port, 3/4" BSP). Note: our standard manifold (of sizes: 2 1/2" or 3" or 4"diameter) is a slip fit into PE irrigation pipe. (If a different style of connection is required we can help with this, ie. thread, flange, ...)
- Physical fitment of the Kelco IPG20 to the manifold - easy, and described in the Kelco manual supplied. (usually the IPG20 and manifold are pre-fitted at the factory) ... manual is also viewable on : http://kelco.co.nz
- Electrical connection of the Kelco IPG20 to a power supply - straight forward, electrician (full instructions in the Kelco IPG20 manual) or refer to : https://kelco.co.nz/
- Setting up programme menu in Kelco IPG20 - all settings apart from the "Absolute low limit" have been put in place at the factory (P&Pd) and should be suitable for most conditions (these can be fine tuned later, if needed). The "Absolute low limit" menu requires farmer input as each farm will be a little different for pressures ...
(1) System installation (trailer) at the irrigator:
Before an irrigation run:
-Connect the trailer camlock coupling to the irrigator camlock coupling ....
-Connect the drag hose coupling to the the trailer unit camlock coupling....
-Reach under the raised portion of the cover and check that the "Valve set wheel" is in the "set to trip position".
..... the trailer unit is now ready for irrigation to begin .....
